Long games

Be prepared to set aside 3 or 4 hours to get to the final table.

They can be marathon events.

When playing with mostly amateurs the games are often over quite quick but I have been in games that just goes on and on for serveral hours. At those games only "pros" played. Fun but exausting.

I hate slow and long games. I prefer people to just make their move and keep the game going. Those people that have to spend 5 minutes for every single move they make are ridiculous. Most of the time it should be pretty obvious what you should or should not do.

I have been in games for a few hours and personally that is to much for me. I prefer it to be ower quick and like you say when playing over a few dollars it is really annoying with people sitting minutes and thinking about their next move.

Some people just take things too seriously and insist they need to play slow so they do not mess up. I understand their thinking and all but I also know most decisions in a poker game only takes a couple of moments.

Most games should be over within 5 minutes of the cards being dealt. There really is no reason that the games should ever last very long. Decisions in poker do not take much thought to be decided upon.

marathon games I really like to watch them because they create the drama out of it but can't play it a lot of tactics are required by one to play a long game

I am not sure that I would even say 3-4 hours. Sometimes they can last all day depending how well you are performing at the tables. You might be able to take yourself a long way in a tournement. This does depend on how many players are entered.

As said earlier most decisions does not take much time to take. I think the reason of delay might have something to do with playing with the patience of your opponents. So that it gives some edge for future moves.
