Hi 602511,

Thanks for wishing me luck, much appreciated.

At this moment, i will just say this, if form worked out well most of the time, we will
all be rich. ( racing is a hard game )

I wish you well too in what ever you do.

Thanks for your posting.

Just to add to the words already expressed, well done Ken. I think you hail from my part of the world before I escaped, near Buxton?

Anyway, oddschecker is a superb site, I agree. Also it is very useful for constructing arbs (see my thread "Income from betting exchanges" ) as it shows which prices are drifting / shortening.

Best regards
Dave

Just my personal thoughts on todays racing------------

Hi Everyone and of course - Ian and H,

Even though i have said no bets, i still do the lower grade courses, the reason
for this is, to keep me busy, etc.

Here is one race that i have worked out.

6-00 THIRSK

No. 6. ZHITOMIR
No. 8. REZZAGO

I won't be betting on them, but it does not mean that they won't win

Personally i would rather not have favoutites, but i have no control over it
the reason is, my system is based around the OFFICAL JOCKEY CLUB RATINGS
this is how i look for clues to pick out the selection/s.
In my personal experience even the jockey club handicappers get it wrong,
the reason for this is a list of many issues.
Theres a lot more that can be said, but it will take me all day to explain.

I would wish to point out a very important factor.

Who gets it more right then wrong in handicap races

Would you say The Jockey Club Handicappers

or

Private handicappers like Time Fowm and Race Form ??

One does not have to give it a second thought who it is.

Ken

P.S. Anyone has any bet/s today.

P.S. Apology for this 2nd thread, as i forgot to say it on my 1st thread, thanks.

Hi dave,

Thanks for your posting.

As for laying, i do them as well, but not many lay/s come along.

Will look at yours.

Good luck in what you do today.

I have tried laying (horses) but for me it is simply too risky, I only lay when the opportunity comes along to offset the lay at better odds and construct a no lose scenario.
Certainly not often!

Have a look at the thread and check out Peters posts and his link. Very interesting.

Good luck
Dave

Hi H,

The reason i don't have an offical bet is, one, as you know i only do
group one courses, but does not mean that there wil be bet/s even
if there is group 1 racing.
I have 5 different ways from my system, and if there is not any of them
then of course it will be a no bet day.

My system can have bet/s from lower grade courses, but as you know
i don't do lower grade courses for reasons stated in my previous post.

As for todays mention bet ( meaning its not offical ) the 2 given today is
based on my experience over the years, i wish i could make it more clear
then i have.

Hopefully H in the not so distant future i will be more then willing
to let you have my phone number.
I ask you not to misunderstand me in anyway by me saying this,
i say it cause im a friendly, sincere, honest chap and thats the truth.
It nice to make friends with others who have the same quality too.

Regards
Ken

Well thanks for that ken , but it may be waisted on me as I am not a racing man , but it is interesting , and its something I have not delved into before
sorry if I am asking daft question , but I am wearing L plates regarding this
kind regards
H

edit the 6 oclock race at Thirsk, 2nd and a 4th thats very good
yes I know that you get nothing for a 4th place
but there was 16 runners
well done

Smile Theres A Bet, but------------------

Good Morning All,

As the title states, theres a bet, but, well one of my rules is, not to back any races
that is run over - 1m6f.
The main reason for this is, stamina comes into play, full stop.

By the way, this handicap is one of my 5 systems, but it won't be counted win or lose.

How ever, since its R ASCOt at YORK, i shall be having just small stakes
on the 3 selections.

A profit can be made should 1 of the 3 wins as the prices are o.k.

4-55 R Ascot at - YORK

No. 1. SWIFT SAILOR
No. 3. COCONUT BEACH
No. 5. GOLDEN QUEST

Regards
Ken

Good luck to what ever you are doing today.
