Yes it is definitely slow. This game is for those who are really good in planning and analysis. That's also are the main reason why I am not really into it. I don't have a good analysis.

My brother taught me how to play chess when I was quite young. I think to a certain extent it’s like poker. You are not only playing a game but you are playing your opponent, if that makes sense. You need to plan a few moves ahead and anticipate what your opponent will do and that’s why it moves so slow.

Chess doesn't click with me either. I just can't get it no matter how much anyone tries to teach me. I find it kind of boring though to be honest. I'd much rather play checkers.

It is a mind game I feel. It just needs every trick and every move to be made after a very long thought. I learnt it from my grandma who was a good chess player. I do play it with my friends now n then or play it online.
