Check or Raise

This is often a difficult problem that many poker players have to deal with on a hand to hand basis. Lots of players tend to raise a lot when they start with a good hand but in reality it can be better to just check or start with a slight raise. It can give off the impression that you have a not so great hand so more people will stay in the game and bet more.

I think you find this with in-experienced players, its always something to watch out for the player who is quick to raise in large chunks, small raise is always the way to go, keep the fish hooked

Very true. As I said if you just use a small raise at first it will keep the players coming and make them think you have a not so good hand or only a slightly decent hand. After a couple of small raises you can then push a large raise onto the table and players will normaly be quite surprised when that happens cause they will often think you are just bluffing when you could have the greatest hand possible.
