Luck or not?

Some people say that poker is based on skill and other on luck.I think the true is somewhere in the middle. It is true that your skill would not change your 23 in AA because in the short run poker is a game of luck. However, the more hands you play, the more important skill becomes and the less important luck is.

Depends which kind of poker, for 7-cards, it has to do with luck, but I would give most of it to skill, knowing when to go forward and when to stop and fold.

I think it has to be some Luck but more skills. You get luck on your side but even then you must have the matching skils also to support your Luck.

Poker is definately a game of skills but of course luck plays a role too in it all. it is har do say how big part each have but I guess it is like 2/3 of skills and 1/3 of luck.

I would have to agree that it ways more on the side of skill. You need to know when to fold and when to raise and so on. But luck does come into it at times also.

At times though it seems you can do nothing when you get bad hands. So in those situations it's luck that matters. Even experienced people feel stressed to counter those situations.

Of course it is luck and skill combined. The cards you get are luck. But the hardest part is being able to hide your feelings and to read others and what they may have in their hand. That is probably the hardest part of it all. There is definitly a lot of skill involved.

Yes, the cards you get is just about luck but how you play them is built on your skills. You can get really lousy cards but still win a pot with your skills to play the game.

That of course would be based on your ability to fake out the other players. Bluffing is the hardest skill to master in poker but if you can learn it then you will be able to turn the worse hnd into a money maker. That is the main reason I think poker is both luck and skill.

Luck or not

I think its share luck and mindset your luck works too but mind plays a similarlry important role because once only you know the tactics plus the emotions of the opponent then only you can work out your luck
