Lessons?

One of my friends, just last night actually... was telling me that he learned how to play poker by paying for lessons! I could not believe someone would do that, but he said their is such a service out there. The Ironic thing is, I taught myself by watching television and I still always beat him and he spent about $400 for full lessons.

Have anyone here paid for poker lessons?

Wow, $400!! That is kind of steep. What all did the lessons entail for that amount of money?

He actually told me more about the lessons a few hours ago. In it he was taught the basics of course, and then he was also informed about the % chance to win with certain hands and how often certain hands win. His instructor also taught him how to focus and bluff by paying attention to something in the slight distance.

I would still say that he got ripped off however, I still beat him every time.

I personally would not pay for lessons. I sure wouldn't pay that amount if I was interested. That is pretty steep if you ask me.

I would be glad to teach anyone to play. Their first lesson would be losing to me though. If you do not know how to lose, you should not know how to win. One must get use to losing with dignity, its life.

Wow, I agree with everyone else. $400 is a bit steep to pay for Poker lessons. I hope he had a pro teaching him. There is just a wealth of ways to learn online for free, so I couldn't see myself ever paying to learn any card game at all.

This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. I can't believe it. I mean that you don't need someone to teach you how to play. It comes natural.
