Sunglasses for a newbie?

Is it adviseable for a newbie to wear sunglasses? What are the advantages and disadvantages for a newbie to wear them? Also, if you do advise, what kind do you suggest?

I would not suggest to wear sunglasses. For me it is a signal of an insecure player. Practice and learn how to avoid telling people if you have a good hand or not with your body language.

Actually, experienced enough players can get what kind of hand you've got even if you were in a hat, sunglasses and a long jacket. That doesn't even matter. You have to be a little bit psychologist to get others hands and not to let them know your hand.

I don't think that it is really a good idea. I think that it is a sign of insecurity and a lack of confidence. I also agree with Explizite that a very experienced player will still have no problems decoding your hand.

I would suggest you wear reflective sunglasses so the other players can't see your eyeballs. Certainly can't hurt your game. I see big stars wearing them all the time.

If you wear sunglasses it makes your opponents understand that you're not sure of your game and that you're not that experienced.

I have seen many a young player use glasses in their time. However they are usually doing it as a joke. I would not take the wearing of them as a sign of a weak player. I could just toss some on to confuse you all, and surprise- I am an amazing player.

Exactly my opinion. If you want to send out signals of insecurity wearing sunglassed is something for you.

What about wearing the glasses to confuse the other players into thinking you are inexperienced? I would do that against players like you.
