Draw poker question
In draw poker, what is the general rule: can you always draw 5 new cards or do you have to have an ace to draw more than 3? I know that is a typical house rule, but is it the "official" one?

Of course not, as that would require you to prove everytime that you do in fact have an ace in your hand

Thanks, I know some people who play with that rule and I found it odd.

I don't think you know any people that play by that rule
![]() Really how could it work? You show your cards to everyone to indeed prove that you have an ace in your hand? |

Yes, basically it mentions that you can hold one as a wildcard, its need of an ace is just to emphasize that it makes sense to hold it. But there is no need to have one, as it is never shown to other people to begin with.
