Confidence with bigger money?
Hi all, i'm new to this Poker lark (but having a good time learning) and would be interested to hear how long it took people to get confidence moving onto 'larger' sums per game. Obviously i'm still finding my feet with the small fry of a few quid here and there, but doing well on the whole. Is it something you just get a feel for?!

It's actually nicer in the higher sums, since it requires a whole different technique; in those ranges, people actually care about their money, and won't throw it away.

When I started out I gambled with very small amounts. I did this for quite a long time before moving up another step. I think it is clever to start small and develop a good playing technique and build up your confidence before moving on to higher bet games. Step by step.

It takes a while to get to that level of security. But like massive says. Take step by step and you will get there some day.

As well, it's not like its major league and minor league; if you're having fun with small sum, then no pressure into getting more dangerous

That's true. When playing with small sums people may not really show their best.

I feel getting into confidence has a direct connection with success. If you win more you gain confidence so when you have enough confidence alongwith the experience then people go for big money into the game. But for starters I think it's always safe to start low and learn how to play big.

Yeah quite, as well as learning to "move on" and that it might not always go well. People sometime want to win 100% of the time
