It is a great idea. I never take the credit cards in with me to keep the temptation away, I leave them in the car. I won't allow it to become a problem or cut into my finances at home to pay my bills.

I couldn't imagine having a gambling problem and the temptation and how difficult it would be to just quit at a set limit.

One of the keys to successful gambling is bankroll management.Let's say you put aside $1000 bankroll for the NFL season. Your standard bet will be 2 1/2% or $25. In this manner if your bankroll increases your standard bet size goes up and visa versy. Betting more when your'e hot and less when you are not is also very important.

I do basically what everyone else does and has suggested here. I only take what I am willing to lose and not be too overly upset about. I hate losing a lot of money only to realize I could have bought something worthwhile with the money I lost.

I make sure that I never bring any more money then I can afford to lose. That way I can never go home with regret from losing way too much. It is really very effective.
