Your first poker experience?

What was your first poker experience? Did you start a long time ago playing real live poker or did you first discover it when the trend with online poker came along?

Personally I have been playing a quite a long time and started out playing with friends and in casinos.

I started playing poker because all of my friends were back in high school. Guess I started to fit in.

But now I play a whole lot all the time.

I started in casinos and of course playing at home with friends. But my more organized playing started in casinos.

Wow...I would never start in casinos to learn how to play. I would probably of lost so much that I would of quit. That is not how I would recomend getting to know the game. I would start with friends.

My boyfriend has poker nights every single saturday so I decided to sit in on one game and became in love with it.Ever since then I have taken the time out to learn and listen.

I actually played for fun and not really to learn. The basics is learned at home when I was a kid and played some with friends too.

I would not recommend anyone to start out in casinos either.

well my first poker experience was very bad I lost a handsome amount of money and I really didn't knew how to play this game.

Ouch. If you are new to the game you should never bet a whole lot. You should not throw away money like that if you do not even fully understand the basic concepts. I am sorry to hear that happened to you.
