Anyone been to Vegas?

I was just wondering if there's anyone here who's played in Vegas before. It's famous for its casinos and though I've been there I haven't played. I'd think there would be more professionals in this city and consequently it may be tougher than other casinos. I have no idea but I've always been curious to know this.

I have not been to Las Vegas but I have an aunt who has been. She sent me back a set of poker cards from a casino she visited so that was nice. I personally am not sure if I would want to go 100% The city has a lot of bad reputations that goes with it.

Well I will tell you a little, the city is ever changing. As one of the safest resort destinations in the world I would not be worried about some of the bad rep issues (like prostitution, as it is not legal in the county and is watched very closely.) As far as playing at the casino's you find more people not profressional gamblers than you ever will of those who really are. Many are just like you, someone wanting to come here to have some fun. If you have other questions let me know. I can tell you where to start playing if you want something small and where not to play.

I hear a lot about people going there for a vacation after getting married. Is it all that romantic? What is the appeal with that?

Thanks attagirl, for sharing. I've been through the hotel casinos but have never played. I'm planning to go back to the city again though because I couldn't do much looking around last time I went due to the astounding heat.

That is understandable. The best time to really go out looking is at night. As it is cooler, but during the summer not much. The temp has been in the upper 70's or lower 80's the last week or so and at night is still pretty comfortable, although can get chilli.

But finding the right place to play for you will be the key, you will want to make sure you would feel comfortable playing at that place you choose.

As far as going for vacation after marriage, I am not sure. I know many people get married here for the excitement of the city and walking along the strip, but I am not sure what they find to be appealing about that. There are other things to do besides gamble here in the city.

What other things are there to do? I guess it is best known for the casinos but besides that what else is there? Are there good places for sight seeing?

When I went there last time I went with my family, and we didn't play at the casinos at all. What we did instead though, was visiting the different hotels as they all have unique themes, and we also went to buffets. (The one at Bellagio was the best, by the way!) There are also a lot of shows to watch at the hotels. I hear they've now built a coloseum type structure at Caesar's Palace where Celine Dion used to hold her concerts until just about a few days ago, so that might be worth a visit. There were a lot of things I wanted to see that I didn't get a chance to see, so I'm really looking forward to my next trip.
