Writer's Strike

So I was wondering what you all thought about the writer's strike? Do you think that they should get some of the profits from the DVD sales and internet sales? Personally I do and I don't blame them at all. I hope that get what they are striking for.

I think they are a bunch of spoiled people from Hollywood. No more really needs to be said there.

I think they should get what they are asking, but I don't believe the studios will totally back down.
The writers are the most talented people in Hollyweird. More info and walking the line outbursts below.

I am sure that they sign some sort of contract when writing. They should of included tha as a clause in their contracts before hand. If there is no contract then yes they deserve some of the money.

When some of the industry's contracts were signed a few years ago, the same possibility of distribution on the Internet and cell phones didn't exist. That's why ACTRA went on strike earlier this year for the first time in its 64 year history.

ACTRA is the Alliance of Canadian Cinema,Television and Radio Artists which issued the work permits for recent movies such as Cinderella Man, Good Will Hunting, Hairspray, X-Men and Chicago, to name a few.

A similar problem existed with DVD sales a few years ago.

I would thing that if this strike goes on much longer that they are going to lose tons of money. You would think that the studios would rather share in the profits.

I think that it was for a reason but at the same time they got tired of waiting. They had familes to feed and the holidays were coming and they din't want to suffer through that. I think that is what happens.

I don't get why they even wasted their time when they ended up going back to the same situation. I mean what was the reasoning. Are you striking to get what you want out of the deal? Nothing. Now they are back at work looking stupid.

Did the strike end or something? I am not sure what you mean about them going back to the same situation unless I missed something isn't this the first strike for these reasons?
