Saw

Okay, since this movie has been brought up here in another thread, I thought I'd create one just for itself. So any Saw fans here, and if you're one, please tell us why! I'm an anti-Saw girl myself

I am anti-Saw. I have seen te first 3 and yea...
The first two were tolerable. But the third one just got so perverse. I do not know why people like watching that stuff. It is just wrong that we are entertained by watching others get tortured.

Forgive, I have to agree with you that it’s just sick that people are entertained by such movies such as the Saw series. People wonder why there is an increase in violence in the world. People do what they see.

Well hopefully we will never see any Saw "copycats". What is so different about this movie than other horror flicks...or are you all just anti horror movies? I'd also like to know what is so different about people being murdered on movies that aren't horror...chased down, hunted down, robbed, whatever. What makes those any better?

I think it is a little wrong to go as far as saying it is "sick" that people are entertained, but I personally like the movies and apparently others do or more wouldn't be coming out. I'm not sadistic or crazy and believe me there are movies that are just as bad, if not worse (some may not get as down and dirty with the graphics because most are so low budget and stupid that I can make in my backyard).

I like the movie because it is not predictable. It keeps you on your toes. Gross factor could be calmed down a little bit..I do agree with that...that I don't care for. The graphics are the most realistic I've ever seen so it's not your typical low budget stupid horror flick.

Everyone has their own tastes. I personally can't watch movies about war or terrorism and THAT is about the voilence that is going on today...

As far as people doing what they see....well, the only movies I see lately are voilence related, sex related, and drug related short of watching cartoons that are filled with adult humor.

I don't get what is so different about this movie..........

What kind of movies do you all like?

I found your comment about the movie not being just another low budget film to be entertaining. Actually, the first Saw took place in one main room for the entire length of the movie because it was a low budget film.

But anyways. The first two Saw movies were done with a decent amount of class. The were no where near as perverted as the third and fourth.

It was done in one room, more low budget, but still didn't seem like it because I was on my toes wondering what was going to happen next. I haven't seen the fourth one yet...I didn't have a chance to go to the theater to see it.

I read all about the fourth one online just because I want to know what happened. But I would not be able to sit through the actual film.

I've only watched the first Saw movie, and I'm sure that it wasn't literally all done in one room as a filming location. I agree that much of it takes place in the one room, but there are flashbacks to the other murders which happened elsewhere, right?

I was surprised at how interesting I found the plot, but from the sounds of it I think I'd find the sequels a bit much, like some of the scenes in Hostel.

I didn't care for Hostel as much. It was good, but it seemed a lot more fake. I think the acting/scenes looked more low budget on that film than Saw.

I was disappointed in the fourth one. I mean it's starting to get a little repititous in its old age. I guess.
