I do not understand why Indians have the right to have their own casinos while ordinary people are not allowed due to laws and restrictions. Anyone have any thoughts?

I believe that they are allowed to have the casino's because they own the land the government does not. They were given this land because of the land we took away from them years ago. I believe that is the reason in a nutshell.

I guess so. I think we should give them land, but it should still be united Stated territory and not theirs. They should also be subject to our laws including those concerning casinos.

I don't think we should have pushed them from their land in the first place, but whats done is done. Why should they be forced to obey our laws? We should be obeying their laws since they were here first.

Also, why do you want less casinos?

It don't bother me. I do think that they have their own police and stuff like that and that they do have to follow the countries laws. I mean they are not allowed to just do whatever they want.

Yeah i don't think it's like total anarchy, I think the casino's are just an additional concession to go along with the land. I've got no problem with it, in fact I think I've had quite a bit more luck in the Indian Casinos

I think they should be allowed to have casinos. I also think they should be given some of their own land and be allowed to govern things by themselves.

I think that's it. And I believe if you do a title search of a piece of property other than the reserves, it will go back only as far as an immigrant first owned the land, meaning there's no legal acknowledgement of First Nations people owning it.

What happened to them was a raw deal, however they are basically on American land and they should live by our laws. If they want the land, invade it. That is how it has worked for centuries. They should be allowed to own private property, of course, and really casinos should be legal all around, but giving them extended rights is not right.

Well if you get down to it they were in legal contratcs that we broke with them so it should be their land and they have grounds to sue us in courts for large payments. The shoul at least get a casino.
