No, you don't just roll and move, its a lot more detailed than that. Saying you just roll dice an move is like saying to drive you just get in a car and steer.

Also, you can make anything more interesting by betting on it. You could bet on go fish, hide and go seek, tag, or anything else at all...

I can easily relate to your problem. I don't even know how it works. Can anyone tell me how it works? How can I win?

The rules are simple (I sound like Jigsaw from Saw). Every board you buy will give the directions. Basically you roll the die and move the pieces to the other side and get them in. If you land on someone's lone piece they have to wait on the middle until they can get down. The rules explain in a lot more detail. Once you read them all through it will be easy.

It's been a long time since I played, but I learned pretty quickly at the time, so it can't be that hard.

I just never stuck with it.

Backgammon Rules

Here is a website I found I that better explains everything in an easy manner. I hope it helps some of you all out. It is quite a fun game.

One word of advice. Never learn how to play on yahoo backgammon. Their dice software seems to reward errors instead of punishing them. It would make sense as they are a free gammon site and would need to therefore retain the millions of players that arent that skillfull instead of causing them to quit and killing its ad revenue impressions.
