When some of the industry's contracts were signed a few years ago, the same possibility of distribution on the Internet and cell phones didn't exist. That's why ACTRA went on strike earlier this year for the first time in its 64 year history.

ACTRA is the Alliance of Canadian Cinema,Television and Radio Artists which issued the work permits for recent movies such as Cinderella Man, Good Will Hunting, Hairspray, X-Men and Chicago, to name a few.

A similar problem existed with DVD sales a few years ago.
